The Myrtle Creek Council Meeting was well attended by Tri City Citizens including fiver Board Members and the Chair, Dan Wiggens. Board Members were Gerald Heilman, Carl White, Bill Palmer, Chuck Reinhart and Bob Sulon. Joe Pospicil was unable to attend. Also present was Board Secretary Candace Courson.

Dan signed in, and when called upon, read a brief statement regarding Myrtle Creek's stated intention to annex areas within Tri City and area resident's objection to same. Copies of the petition were then handed to the Council. Both Ken Schmidt and Alan Kusler stated that they had not made a commitment to annex Tri City, but had instead voted to annex the Old Pacific Highway to exit 103. Schmidt stated that an annexation of Tri City would require a vote of both Tri City and Myrtle Creek. He further stated that Myrtle Creek could have annexed areas within their boundaries that were surrounded by the present City of Myrtle Creek but did not do so because they did not wish to force annexation on anyone not wishing to be included in their city.

Our purpose for the presentation was to inform the Council of our intentions and provide them with the informal petition, this completed and without further confromtation, thanked them for their time and left the meeting

Carl White
