South County Fireman’s Cook-Off (SCFCO)
About The Cook-Off

What: 1st Annual South County Fireman’s Cook-Off.
All profits will be divided up equally between the participating South County Volunteer Fire Departments
When: May 15th, 2010.
- Set-Up begins at 7:30 AM
- Cook’s Meeting at 7:30 AM
- The Cook-Off begins at 8:00 AM
- Lunch will be served at 3:00 PM
- Auction between 1:00 PM and 3:00 PM
- Awards Ceremony begins at 3:00 PM
Where: Tri City Elementary School & South Umpqua High School.
Tickets: $8.00 for adults, and $4.00 for kids under 12. Tickets available at participating local businesses.
Judges: There will be 7 Judges. Susan Morgan, John Hanlin, Don Brown are confirmed judges.
Contestants: South County Fire Department Teams (3-7 firefighters per team).
Entry Fees: Fire Department Team Entry Fee: $25 Non-Refundable.
Contest Categories: Tri-Tip – Chicken Half's – Pork Ribs
Awards Ceremony: A Trophy, and plaques will be awarded to the overall 1st Place winning team (Grand Champion). Each of the category 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners will receive plaques. The trophy for the Grand Champion team will be a travelling trophy to be displayed at the winning Fire Hall for one year, and then returned next year to be passed on to the 2011 overall winner.
Auction: A silent auction will take place between 1:00 PM and 3:00 PM.
Event Details:
- The Cook-Off will happen rain or shine. A covered eating area will be provided.
- Firefighters and their immediate family members eat for free.
- There will be a Fire Fighter Water Ball Game.
- The Fire Departments will put on demonstrations, and showcase their equipment.
- Kid’s Games: Blanket Carry, Bucket Brigade, Boot Race.
- The Tri City Citizens Alliance will have a 50/50 raffle, with proceeds going to the TCCA.
- No pets allowed.
